If the Patrick Henry Patriots were riding high off their 51-31 takedown of the Bryan Golden Bears last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Patrick Henry was the victim of a tough 61-41 loss at the hands of Antwerp on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Patrick Henry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 476th, while Antwerp is ranked 173rd).
Antwerp got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landon Brewer out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Brewer is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Zaine McMichael was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Patrick Henry now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Antwerp, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will take on Woodward at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Antwerp, Antwerp and Ayersville will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
