Kossuth had won two straight games and Eli Tays did his part to make it three on Friday. The Aggies came out on top against the Belmont Cardinals by a score of 40-28 thanks in part to Tays, who rushed for 158 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Kossuth is undefeated when Tays posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

Belmont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Garrett Johnson, who rushed for 88 yards and one touchdown. Kylei Estes was another key back, rushing for 92 yards and one score.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-2. As for Belmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kossuth will head out to challenge Mantachie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Aggies will be up against the Mustangs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Belmont, they are taking a road trip to square off against East Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals will be up against the Urchins' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
