Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dickinson). Everything went their way against the ASPIRA Charter Wolves on Friday as they made off with a 16-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Rams as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Carter Nelson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). He has become a key player for Dickinson: the team is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-8 otherwise. Nelson was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Asante Jones was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Luke Trzeciakiewicz, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
