On Friday, Luverne came up short against Shields and fell 60-52. Luverne has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shields to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jalance Kimbrough, who scored 16 points. The match was Kimbrough's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Leffall, who scored 14 points along with six assists.
Luverne's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Shields, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Luverne will be home for the holidays to greet Georgiana at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Georgiana presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Luverne in Alabama (Georgiana is ranked 46th, while Luverne is ranked 187th). Shields is on the road again on Thursday and play against Southside at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st.
