The Corbin Redhounds are taking a road trip to face off against Great Crossing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Corbin turned things around against Model on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Patriots. Considering the Redhounds have won ten matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Kade Elam made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Corbin's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-1 (and 9-11 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Corbin got a massive performance out of Trey Person, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Person a new career-high. Cam Estep was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Corbin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Model only posted an OBP of .235.
Meanwhile, Great Crossing had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They skirted past the Flyers 4-2.
Landen Walters tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.
On the hitting side, Great Crossing let Chase Little and Cooper Duvall run wild. Little went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Duvall went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenton Alcorn, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Great Crossing pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Corbin, their record now sits at 18-12.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Corbin has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Great Crossing struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Corbin beat Great Crossing 5-2 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Redhounds repeat their success, or do Great Crossing have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
