Wawasee is 1-9 against Northridge since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wawasee Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Northridge Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Wawasee will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Last Friday, Wawasee was able to grind out a solid win over South Bend Riley, taking the game 35-26.
Hunter Tinkey had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Tinkey was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Donovan Blair also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last game, Northridge made sure to put some points up on the board against Logansport on Friday. Northridge breezed by Logansport on the road to the tune of 39-3. The result was nothing new for Northridge, who have now won three contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
McClain Miller had a dynamite game for Northridge, rushing for 212 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Derek Sherwood was another major influence, as he rushed for 89 yards and ran in a TD.
Wawasee's win pushed their record up to 2-8, while Northridge's bumped their own up to the opposite: 8-2.
Wawasee came up short against Northridge in their previous matchup back in September, falling 14-7. Can Wawasee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
