The Lynbrook Vikings won against the Homestead Mustangs on Wednesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Lynbrook managed a 61-57 win over Homestead. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Lynbrook.
Lynbrook was led to victory by Dean Pakel and Mrinal Dwivedi. Pakel scored 24 points, while Dwivedi dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Pakel's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Judah Marks, who scored nine points.
Lynbrook's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Homestead, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Santa Clara the next time they take the court. Lynbrook will host Santa Clara at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Homestead will host them at 7:45 p.m. on January 16th.
