Saddleback Valley Christian extended the longest winning streak in San Joaquin this week by beating Fairmont Prep, 54-37. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Santa Clarita Christian took down Animo Leadership 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jonathan Saavedra threw for 136 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 44 yards in the win.
Forrest Lohman was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 379 yards as Saddleback Valley Christian beat the Aztec Eagles. Teammate Brandon Camarillo-Towles added to the ground attack by rushing for 39 yards.
Nogle was the best wideout in the league this week as Santa Clarita Christian bested Animo Leadership. Nogle tallied six receptions for 96 yards. Jon Luke Wilson helped Santa Clarita Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 17 yards.
Capistrano Valley Christian's Riley Babick and Ben Sukut have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading San Joaquin in both passing and receiving yards. Babick has thrown for 2035 yards this season, while Sukut, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 76 catches for 1077 yards. Lohman from Justin Reber's team leads the league in rushing with 1817 yards.
The Eagles made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,868 from 11,927. The improvement came about via a 55-14 victory over Southlands Christian last week.
