The South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls will head out to challenge the Union Academy Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as South Stanly comes in on three and Union Academy on 21.
South Stanly had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Gray Stone Day on Monday. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Knights. Considering the Rowdy Rebel Bulls have won ten contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Gray Stone Day's batters probably weren't too happy with Lyric Rucker, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (she gave up a single walk).

On the hitting side, Lia Carpenter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashelyn Tucker, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Stanly kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Union Academy got themselves on the board against South Stanly two weeks ago, but South Stanly never followed suit. They blew past the Rowdy Rebel Bulls 9-0. The Cardinals are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the 18th matchup they've won by 6+ runs this season.
The result came thanks to Avery Wilson's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Paisley Boatright, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, five RBI, and three runs. Taylor Surratt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Union Academy's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 21-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 9.7 runs thus far. As for South Stanly, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Stanly hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .329. However, it's not like Union Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .422. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South Stanly suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Union Academy when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Rowdy Rebel Bulls avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
