On Saturday, Astoria/VIT came up short against Madison and fell 58-47.
Despite the loss, Astoria/VIT had strong showings from Kaden Foglesong, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Ben Sherrod, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Sherrod scored a full 29.8% of Astoria/VIT's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Little, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
Astoria/VIT's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Madison, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Astoria/VIT and Greenview will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Madison, they will be playing at home against Lovejoy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lovejoy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
