Sultana has gone a perfect 10-0 against Burroughs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Sultans will look to defend their home field against the Burros at 3:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Sultana has three straight victories, Burroughs has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Tuesday, Sultana made easy work of Apple Valley and carried off a 15-5 win. The Sultans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Savannah Vanderpool spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on eight hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 13 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Avery Rodriguez, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Isabel Avalos, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Sultana was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are 12-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Burroughs came up short against Serrano on Tuesday and fell 7-4.
Jadyn Green made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Lorrain Gamble was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.
Sultana pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Burroughs, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Burroughs' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Sultana has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Burroughs, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Sultana's sizable advantage in that area, the Burros will need to find a way to close that gap.
Sultana took their victory against Burroughs in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 11-0 score. Will the Sultans repeat their success, or do the Burros have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
