The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Highlands Ranch in their matchups with Rock Canyon: they've now lost five in a row.
Highlands Ranch lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Payton TerEick, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals. TerEick hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Tyler Forester was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Rock Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Macoy Terry, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nolan Kliewer, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Highlands Ranch's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4. As for Rock Canyon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.
Highlands Ranch won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mullen at 1:30 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Mullen is ranked 54th, while Highlands Ranch is ranked 72nd).
