Warsaw is 2-8 against Lincoln since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Warsaw Wildcats will be playing at home against the Lincoln Cardinals at 9:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Tuesday, Warsaw had to suffer through a rough 79-47 loss at the hands of Weaubleau. Warsaw was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.
Despite their defeat, Warsaw saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Logan Gemes, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Gemes scored a full 25.5% of Warsaw's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Garrett Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, Lincoln had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Knob Noster. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lincoln in their matchups with Knob Noster: they've now lost three in a row.
Warsaw now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Warsaw was taken down by Lincoln 47-19 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Warsaw avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
