P.K. Yonge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Powers, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Powers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Young, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
P.K. Yonge's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Gainesville, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
P.K. Yonge will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on The Villages Charter at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Gainesville will be home for the holidays to greet Wildwood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Wildwood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gainesville in Florida (Wildwood is ranked 44th, while Gainesville is ranked 230th).
