Hubbard is 1-9 against South Range since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hubbard Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the South Range Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Hubbard is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, everything went Hubbard's way against McKinley as Hubbard made off with a 58-36 victory. The win was just what Hubbard needed coming off of a 54-34 loss in their prior contest.
Hubbard's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javon Greene, who scored 13 points. Greene set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Gavin Rybicki was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, South Range pushed their score all the way to 56 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 69-56 to Lakeview. That's two games in a row now that South Range has lost by exactly 13 points.
Hubbard's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for South Range, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Hubbard came up short against South Range in their previous matchup back in February, falling 50-40. Can Hubbard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
