Tati Griffin, Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka headline USA Basketball U16 national team

MaxPreps Freshman of the Year Griffin among 12 to compete at FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup in Mexico.

MaxPreps All-Americans Tati Griffin of Ontario Christian (Ontario, Calif.) and Ivanna Wilson-Manyacka of Bullis (Potomac, Md.) headline the U16 roster announced by USA Basketball on Tuesday.

The team will compete at the FIBA U16 Women's AmeriCup, scheduled for June 16-22 in Irapuato, Mexico.

Size won't be an issue for the Americans as 10 of the 12 players to make the team are listed over 5-foot-11.

In addition to Griffin and Wilson-Manyacka, six other players landed on various MaxPreps All-America teams following the 2024-25 season.


Griffin averaged 17.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists for Ontario Christian, which went 30-2 last season and finished No. 5 in the final MaxPreps Top 25.

Wilson-Manyacka averaged 18.5 points and 11.1 rebounds for Bullis, which spent time in the national rankings last year.

Steve Gomez of Lubbock Christian University will serve as the head coach along with assistants Brittany Johnson of Evanston (Ill.) and Krystle Johnson of Hoover (Ala.). Supporting as coaches during training camp will be Monique Boykins of Cheltenham (Wyncote, Pa.) and Nicole Collins of Cedar Hill (Texas).

The 2025 FIBA U16 Women’s AmeriCup features eight teams from the FIBA Americas zone with the top four teams advancing to the 2026 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup in Czechia. 

The Americans drew Group A with Argentina, Puerto Rico and Venezuela. They tip off competition against Venezuela on June 16, followed by Puerto Rico on June 17 and Argentina on June 18. All three games will tip off at 5 p.m. ET.
