The St. Mary Eagles were the 71-54 winner over the Glen Lake Lakers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. St. Mary took a serious blow against Glen Lake on Wednesday, falling 56-17. St. Mary was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.
Glen Lake was led to victory by Jacob Plamondon and Cooper Bufalini. Plamondon scored 13 points along with 9 rebounds, while Bufalini scored 12 points along with 3 steals. The game was Plamondon's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Keaton LaCross, who scored 8 points.
St. Mary now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Glen Lake, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary will face off against Brimley at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Brimley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday. As for Glen Lake, they will head out on the road to face off against Alpena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Alpena will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 411th, while Glen Lake is ranked 137th).
