The Forge Christian Fury won the last time they faced the Stargate School Eagles, and things went their way on Thursday too. Forge Christian rang in the new year with a 46-39 victory over Stargate School. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Forge Christian has scored all year.
Forge Christian found their leader in underclassman Levi Clark, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that Clark pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Peyton Miller, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Stargate School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hunter Roark. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with four steals. The match was Roark's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Rusch, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Forge Christian pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.6 points per game. As for Stargate School, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2.
Forge Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Addenbrooke Classical Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 5th. Addenbrooke Classical Academy is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Stargate School, they will head out on the road to face off against Regis Groff at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Regis Groff has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
