Basketball Recap: Cut Bank Comes Up Short

Cut Bank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 55-52 heartbreaker at the hands of the Shelby Coyotes. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Wolves have suffered since February 17, 2024.

Despite the loss, Cut Bank still got an impressive performance from Peyton Racine, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. The game was Racine's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Greg Coy, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 14 points.

Cut Bank's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Shelby, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-16.

Cut Bank wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 57-41 loss against Rocky Boy on the 15th. As for Shelby, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 74-43 defeat against Fairfield on the 15th.
