The Hamilton Yankees were the 61-52 winner over the Los Angeles CES Unicorns when they last played one another on January 8th, but their luck changed this time around. Hamilton received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 72-53 to Los Angeles CES. While losing is never fun, Hamilton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 687th, while Los Angeles CES is ranked 296th).
Despite the loss, Hamilton still got an impressive performance from Rhys Nelson, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Jahn, who scored six points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Hamilton dropped their record down to 8-16 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Los Angeles CES, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hamilton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Dorsey at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Los Angeles CES, they will be playing at home against Palisades at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Palisades is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
