Wiseburn- Da Vinci is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Redondo Union is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Wiseburn- Da Vinci will welcome Redondo Union at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Wiseburn- Da Vinci is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past King/Drew 5-4. While the Wolves didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Addison Wilson and Gabriella Silva were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Wilson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Silva kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Wilson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Wilson went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Silva went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI. That home run was Wilson's first of the season.
In other batting news, Jasmine Veal was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.
Wiseburn- Da Vinci was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King/Drew only posted a batting average of .182.
Meanwhile, Redondo Union won against Dana Hills on Saturday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. Redondo Union never let El Toro get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The Sea Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Redondo Union also got a great performance from Bailey Murray as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Abby Luis, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. Another player making a difference was Julia Tsao, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Redondo Union is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. Wiseburn- Da Vinci's victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Both Wiseburn- Da Vinci and Redondo Union just can't seem to miss. Wiseburn- Da Vinci has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11 hits per game. However, it's not like Redondo Union struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
