Juan Diego Catholic has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Summit Academy Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.
Last Thursday, Juan Diego Catholic was the victim of a tough 43-21 loss at the hands of the Eagles.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Summit Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by Judge Memorial Catholic 67-33.
Juan Diego Catholic dropped their record down to 2-18 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.0 points per game. As for Summit Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.
Juan Diego Catholic was taken down by the Bears 60-18 when the teams last played back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Juan Diego Catholic was down 39-9.
