The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Wakulla Christian School Saints at 6:30 p.m. on December 7th. Port St. Joe has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Port St. Joe on the road against Wewahitchka as the team secured a 74-33 victory.
Port St. Joe's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was JD Becton, who scored 15 points along with 3 steals. Becton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Bj Cole was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 9 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wakulla Christian School's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Jefferson County, falling 65-31. Wakulla Christian School has struggled against Jefferson County recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Wakulla Christian School's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of CJ Nellum, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds, and Sawyer Lawhon who scored 5 points.
The losses dropped Port St. Joe to 1-3 and Wewahitchka to 1-4.
Port St. Joe took their win against Wakulla Christian School when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a conclusive 70-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for Port St. Joe since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
