It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Prout had no problem doing just that  on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Cumberland Clippers  a   5-0 shutout. That's more bragging rights for Prout, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

 Prout is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record  this season. As for Cumberland,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 12-12.
 Prout will head out on the road to  challenge  Chariho at 1:00  p.m.  on Sunday. The pair have allowed few  runs on average, (Chariho: 3.6, Prout: 3.7) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Cumberland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
