Basketball Recap: Combine Academy Global's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Combine Academy Global had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 70-66 victory over the Greater Vision Academy Lions on Monday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 59-31 back in December of 2024.

Combine Academy Global's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ruichi Miyagi, who posted 18 points. Those 18 points gave Miyagi a new career-high. Another player making a difference was John Stokes III, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.

Combine Academy Global was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greater Vision Academy only posted nine assists.

Greater Vision Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Josiah Love, who almost dropped a double-double on 35 points and nine boards. Love's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ramael Warren, who went 7 of 12 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Combine Academy Global now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Greater Vision Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Combine Academy Global wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-37 defeat against Winston Salem Christian Silver on the 21st. As for Greater Vision Academy, they will square off against Carter G. Woodson at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
