If the Northlake Christian Wolverines were riding high off their 83-54 takedown of the Independence Tigers last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northlake Christian was outmatched by the Lions at home and fell 89-46. While losing is never fun, Northlake Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Lions are ranked 52nd).
Maxwell Allison was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and almost dropping a double-double on 18 points and nine assists for French Settlement. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor McMorris, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Northlake Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for French Settlement, their victory was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northlake Christian will square off against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for French Settlement, they will head out on the road to square off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
