The Elgin Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 40-25 fall against East View. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Elgin in their matchups with East View: they've now lost nine in a row.
Elgin got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of
Sharmonique Williams and
Trinity Martinez, who each put up eight points. Williams also led the team in assists with three. She held things down on the boards with ten rebounds.
Elgin has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season. As for East View, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-21.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elgin will challenge Georgetown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East View, they will head out on the road to square off against Cedar Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Creek comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
