King proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Seattle Prep Panthers 6-4. Winning may never get old, but the Knights sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

King's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Echelbarger, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Echelbarger also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

King's pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Seattle Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, King's will welcome South Whidbey at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Seattle Prep, they will head out to face off against Ballard at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Ballard's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Seattle Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
