Central Catholic lost a heartbreaker the last time they played South Fayette, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's match. The Vikings blew past the Lions 9-3 on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Vikings as it put an end to their nine-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Landon Greene, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Proch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 5-11. As for South Fayette, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Catholic will face off against Montour at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Fayette, they will square off against Peters Township at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
