On Saturday, Santaluces earned a 43-34 victory over Boyd Anderson.
Santaluces got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Makaylah Wayde out in front who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Wayde has scored at least 25% of Santaluces' points. Lyiah Gaitor was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds.
Jakaylia Roland and Amariah Tomlinson certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Roland scored 18 points along with nine rebounds and five steals, while Tomlinson scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Roland continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
The win got Santaluces back to even at 3-3. As for Boyd Anderson, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santaluces will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Wellington at 7:30 p.m. on December 11th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Wellington is ranked 415th, while Santaluces is ranked 413th). As for Boyd Anderson, they will head out on the road to face off against Cypress Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cypress Bay will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
