Zachary Whitehead and Jake Schneider provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Downingtown East. The connection went for 83 yards, the longest such play in Freelance this season.
Salesianum extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Haverford School, 48-22. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Sallies.
Taaron Brown was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 98 yards as St. Mark's fell to the Cougars. Teammate Whitehead added to the ground attack by rushing for 29 yards.
Derrick Groomes put up the best numbers through the air as Caravel topped Archmere Academy. He finished with seven completions for 78 yards and two touchdowns. Groomes' favorite target this week was George Murray, who caught three passes for 47 yards.
Schneider was the best wideout in Freelance this week as the Spartans lost to Downingtown East. Schneider tallied one reception for 83 yards. Adam Waegele helped St. Mark's' passing attack out by catching three balls for 28 yards.
St. Elizabeth's Christian Gwynn and Andre Patton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Gwynn has thrown for 722 yards this season, while Patton, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 27 catches for 349 yards. The Buccaneers' Pierce Ripanti leads the league in rushing yards with 437.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Conrad Science takes on the Auks. The Redskins are currently in ninth, while Archmere Academy is in sixth.
The Vikings and Appoquinimink played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with the Vikings eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory.
