3A Metro - West recap October 22, 2013
Conifer extended the longest winning streak in 3A Metro - West this week by beating Alameda, 41-7. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Lobos.
Conifer took down the Pirates 41-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Matthew McClintock ran for 98 yards during the win.
Arvada's dynamic duo of Elias De la Rosa and Jessy Jackson proved to be unstoppable against Summit, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. De la Rosa threw for 312 yards and 4 touchdowns and Jackson had 140 yards receiving. Travin Haris helped Arvada's passing attack out by catching 20 balls for 134 yards.
D'Evelyn's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Jaguars feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Connor Mateer has thrown for 1,665 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Ty McGee has 46 catches for 925 yards.
McGee of the D'Evelyn's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 75 receiving yards in this week's game against the Bulldogs to get there. He has recorded 46 catches for 925 yards this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Evergreen takes on Alameda. At the moment, the Cougars are in second, while Keith Gille's team is in sixth.
