Blue Valley West has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Blue Valley West Jaguars and the Olathe North Eagles will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
On January 6th, Blue Valley West got the win against Hogan Prep Charter by a conclusive 69-46. Given Blue Valley West's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in Kansas, while Hogan Prep Charter is ranked 298th in Missouri), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Olathe North had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They took down Beloit 67-49.
Blue Valley West pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Olathe North, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Blue Valley West came up short against Olathe North in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 67-61. Can Blue Valley West avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
