It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Maria Carrillo Pumas had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 24-14 victory over Petaluma. The win was just what Maria Carrillo needed coming off of a 42-14 defeat in their prior contest.
Despite the loss, Petaluma still got an impressive performance from Chase Miller, who rushed for 164 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Miller was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Maria Carrillo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Petaluma, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Maria Carrillo will head out on the road to face off against San Marin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Marin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Petaluma does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
