There's no place like home for Mountainside, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Westview Wildcats on Friday as they made off with a 9-1 win. Considering the Mavericks have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Skylar Hins looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Natalie Kawaguchi, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Libby Wilson, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run.
