Decatur is 0-10 against the Bearcats since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Decatur Red Raiders' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cullman Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Hopefully Decatur focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Even though Decatur has not done well against the Golden Eagles recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way. Decatur managed a 48-42 win over the Golden Eagles.
Decatur found their leader in underclassman Jennifer Mitchell, who scored 19 points. Mitchell hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiah Jackson, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cullman came up short against the Panthers on Thursday and fell 55-44.
Decatur's victory bumped their record up to 16-12. As for Cullman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-14 record this season.
Decatur came up short against the Bearcats in their previous matchup on Monday, falling 57-48. Can Decatur avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
