The Bishop Kenny Crusaders stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 48-15 victory over Oakleaf. The team ran away with 39 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Clare Coyle was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Riley Talbert was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Oakleaf lost, one person who can't be blamed is Makiya Trusel. Despite the final result, she scored ten points along with two steals.
Bishop Kenny's victory was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23 points. As for Oakleaf, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Bishop Kenny will be playing at home against Buchholz at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buchholz will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Bishop Kenny is ranked 13th). As for Oakleaf, they will head out on the road to take on Creekside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Creekside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Thursday.
