The Blue Valley Northwest Huskies waltzed into their matchup Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 46-45 victory over Lee's Summit North. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Blue Valley Northwest also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Blue Valley Northwest was led to victory by Lainie Douglas and Gabi Mcfall. Douglas dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mcfall scored 12 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Douglas has scored at least 25% of Blue Valley Northwest's points.
Blue Valley Northwest's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Lee's Summit North, their loss dropped their record down to 3-1.
Blue Valley Northwest will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Topeka at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Lee's Summit North, they will head out on the road to face off against Lee's Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
