After soaring high against Bernalillo the last time the two teams met, Icarus fell to the ground on Friday. Gallup were given a punishing 6-43 loss at the hands of Bernalillo. Gallup was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bernalillo apparently hadn't forgotten their loss from the last time the teams met up.
Senior Damian Gutierrez, who passed for 155 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Senior Josh Fosnock was in the mix, too, providing Bernalillo with with 3 touchdowns.
The defeat dropped Gallup's record to 0-2. The win bumped Bernalillo's record up to 2-0.
Next week, Gallup take on Grants at 7:00 PM. As for Bernalillo, they will face off against Navajo Prep.
