It was a good run, but the Palmer Trinity Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a hard 64-47 fall against Cardinal Gibbons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Palmer Trinity of the 53-49 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2016.
Despite the loss, Palmer Trinity still got an impressive performance from Jade Leon, who scored 22 points along with five steals and two blocks. Leon hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Laria, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Palmer Trinity's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-7. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmer Trinity will take on Boca Raton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Everglades at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th.
