Devin Gayhart spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up six Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Perry County Central is 7-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 7-8 otherwise.
At the plate, Connor Perkins was excellent, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Sheldon Ritchie was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Floyd Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Hazard, falling 13-1.
Mason Anderson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.
Perry County Central has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Floyd Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Perry County Central might still be hurting after the 13-4 defeat they got from Floyd Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
