Bowie hasn't had much luck against Ysleta recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 6:00 p.m. Bowie has given up an average of 23.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bowie is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came up short against Austin on Saturday, falling 19-9. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
Meanwhile, Ysleta hadn't done well against Riverside recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Indians were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Rangers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Indians.
Dahlia Ornelas and Savannah Jurado were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Ornelas pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Jurado struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2025. At bat, Ornelas went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI, while Jurado went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Jurado is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, Cienna Hernandez was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2025. Lynnette Munoz was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Ysleta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Bowie's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Ysleta, their win bumped their record up to 11-13.
Bowie suffered a grim 21-4 defeat to Ysleta in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
