Williams Field is 7-1 against Higley since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Williams Field Black Hawks will be playing at home against the Higley Knights at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Williams Field faced American Leadership Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Williams Field took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of American Leadership Academy. Williams Field's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Williams Field's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Dylan Lee, who gained 433 total yards and two touchdowns, and Xavier Buckles who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Lee was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, Higley can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They claimed a resounding 58-21 victory over Desert Mountain on the road. The victory was just what Higley needed coming off of a 28-6 loss in their prior game.
Daxen Hall and Gunner Fagrell were among the main playmakers for Higley as the former rushed for 161 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries and the latter threw for 246 yards and five touchdowns. Hall is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Taveon Sueing, who picked up 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Williams Field's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 5-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-2 Perry (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 66.7% over those games). As for Higley, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Williams Field came up short against Higley in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 31-21. Will Williams Field have more luck at home instead of on the road?
