Panguitch is 10-0 against Milford since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Panguitch Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Milford Tigers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Panguitch's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matchups.
Panguitch can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They really took it to Bryce Valley for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-35 victory at home. Panguitch pushed the score to 53-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Bryce Valley cut but never quite recovered from.
Panguitch had a senior duo take command as Cache Eyre scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks and Cameron Parkin scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parkin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Remme Chappell, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, even though Green River scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Milford still came out on top. Milford strolled past Green River with points to spare, taking the game 70-56.
Milford can attribute much of their success to Tanu Aaitui, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, and Sadler Barnes, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten assists. Aaitui is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Kielen Tsosie was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Panguitch pushed their record up to 18-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Milford, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Panguitch have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 34.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
