Northern Railbelt recap Oct. 3, 2012
Palmer extended the longest winning streak in Northern Railbelt this week by beating Wasilla, 41-12. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
North Pole led the league in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on Colony. Moo Rogers threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 38 yards in the win.
The Patriots' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Matthew Wentland chipped in 108 yards. Austin McCoy helped North Pole's passing attack out by catching two balls for 31 yards.
Lance Wright was the best wideout in the league this week as North Pole bested the Knights. Wright tallied six receptions for 147 yards.
North Pole's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rogers has thrown for 1663 yards and 20 touchdowns this season, while Wright has 44 catches for 946 yards. Rogers also leads the league in rushing with 901 yards.
Wright of the Richard Henert's team's is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 54 receiving yards in this week's game against West to get there.
The Patriots' Rogers needs only 99 yards against the Eagles next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
West Valley made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,209 from 5,863. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 47-28 victory over Juneau-Douglas last week.
