The Elmwood Royals will challenge the Otsego Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Last Thursday, Elmwood got the win against Woodmore by a conclusive 11-1. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Elmwood let Colton Bradford and Landon Snow run wild. Bradford went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Snow scored a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, Snow posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryken Zeigler, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Elmwood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodmore only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Otsego made sure to put some runs up on the board against Delta on Friday. The Knights came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 10-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.
Lincoln Ferdig made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Ferdig was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Easton Jeremy, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Nemo Barnes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Otsego's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Elmwood, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Elmwood skirted past Otsego 6-5 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Royals repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
