Shenandoah Valley is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 15-0 to Panther Valley. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri-Valley). They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over Nativity BVM on Wednesday. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine matchups by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Kora Rodichok made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mady Schwalm and Alina Leonard did most of the damage at the plate: Schwalm went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Leonard went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Leonard a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Liv Wehry, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Tri-Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .727. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Nativity BVM only posted an OBP of .308.
Tri-Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Shenandoah Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
