The Mooreville Troopers lost against the Saltillo Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Mooreville suffered a rough 66-45 defeat at the hands of Saltillo. Mooreville has not had much luck with Saltillo recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Saltillo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gunner Wesson, who scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds. The contest was Wesson's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Cayden Howell was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with 7 rebounds.
Mooreville's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Saltillo, they have yet to lose a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 7-2 record.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mooreville will take on Itawamba Agricultural at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Saltillo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lake Cormorant at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Lake Cormorant is ranked 54th, while Saltillo is ranked 43rd).
