After a string of four wins, the Springdale Dynamos's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Serra Catholic. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Springdale in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.
Isiah Petty was his usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six assists and six steals for Serra Catholic. Petty hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Pete Burke, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Springdale's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6. As for Serra Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Springdale will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Leechburg has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15. As for Serra Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 555th, while the Eagles are ranked 250th).
