The Grapevine Mustangs waltzed into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins but they left with five. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Trimble Tech 71-8 at home. Grapevine might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five games by 21 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Grapevine to victory, but perhaps none more so than Juliun Contreras, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Contreras was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards. Demontrez Dunn was another key contributor, rushing for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries.
Grapevine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Trimble Tech, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Grapevine will take on Emerson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Emerson's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Trimble Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
